It is likely that you may have accounts on several other websites. It is useful if you can use all of these platforms to help guide visitors to your primary website or blogs.

Some of the websites that you can link from

i. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus etc – The social networking sites are the best way to easily interlink your websites. Make sure your links are both ways. This does not provide a better SEO rating on the search engines, but increases usability. It makes sense to use the reach of these websites to gain valuable and relevant backlinks. Check for the about sections, the settings to provide the main blogs or websites that you own. Regularly post updates from your blogs and also interact with users.

ii. Tumblr – This is hardly used, but is a great way to interlink your websites. The accounts are free and you can post some cool and nifty stuff there, along with some cool pics and gifs. The choice is yours, as long as you utilize it properly.

iii. Sourceforge, Google Hosting, Google Sites – These websites are Gold and the links from them are considered very valuable. If you a developer and have software developed, you will have a page. Just insert your links there and the search engines will do the rest. Check out the individual ways to make sure it works well. Check out the following sites how helpful it is – Filezilla, justPDF and App Engine.

iv. Deviantart, Youtube – Simple and easy to use. Not only should you upload your creations, but also include links to your main blog or website.

v. Don’t spam – Ok, this is not exactly a positive point, but is necessary. Respect the search engines. If you spam a regular user will be upset, and search engines are evolving to do the same. So don’t post too many spammy comments on other blogs – it actually does not help. To prevent others from doing the same to you use noindex and nofollow for your comments section. You can avoid all that by switching to Disqus entirely.
